IRCC has just announced the process for PGP 2023. Canada will once again hold the PGP Lottery, from the autumn 2020 interest to sponsor pool.

Canada has recently announced the process of taking applications for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) 2023.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will issue invitations to apply over the next two weeks to 23,100 interested potential sponsors. IRCC has stated that this figure is sufficient to achieve its target of accepting up to 15,000 complete applications for sponsorship under PGP 2023. Invitations start at the end of this week.

IRCC will be attracted by those who expressed interest in sponsoring their parents and grandparents in autumn 2020. The IRCC says there are about 155,000 potential sponsors remaining in the pool. At the time, potential sponsors were given three weeks to show their interest by filling out a form on the IRCC’s website. IRCC then conducted a lottery and accepted some 10,000 applications for PGP 2020. Last year, IRCC had drawn from the same pool to accept some 30,000 applications for PGP 2021.
