The Global Talent Program is launched to attract high skilled migrants to immigrate to Australia. Through the Global Talent Visa, Australia is seeking highly skilled and talented people from all over the world in specific industries for priority processing so that they can get settle in Australia. Every year 15 thousand (15,000) places are made available for highly skilled and talented individuals in one of ten (10) priority sectors in Australia. Australia Global Talent visa in divided into two categories which is as below.

  1. Global Talent Independent Program Visa (GTI)
  2. Global Talent Employers Sponsored (GTES)

What is the Global Talent Independent program?

This visa attracts highly qualified, experienced and exceptionally talented individuals to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident. In particular, those who can demonstrate the relevant skills in a number of targeted health, scientific, technology, and financial sectors. The GTI Program of the Australian government creates a streamlined Australia immigration pathway for highly-skilled professionals to come to the country for working and living on a permanent basis.

What are requirements/ Eligibility for Global Talent Independent program?

  1. You should prove that you will be an Australian economy.
  2. have a current income of AUD $153,600.
  3. You must have record of exceptional and outstanding achievements.
  4. fit under one of the 10 targeted sectors outlined

What are the 10 target sectors?

Targeted sectors for the GTI Program of Australia are –

Resources – Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, Waste Management, Energy Saving Technology, Extraction and Processing.

Energy – Clean energy, resource robotics, computational metallurgy, geostatistics, beneficiation, battery / energy storage

Health Industries – Medical and biomedical technology, pharmaceutical and vaccine research and development, IT biochemistry, digital health, implantables and wearable devices, genomics

Agri-food and AgTech – Seed technology, nanomaterials, biofuels, supply chain and packaging, wearable technologies

Circular Economy – Bioenergy, sustainable production, recycling, waste treatment, waste to energy technology, emissions technology, ecologically sustainable manufacturing.

Tourism – Travel and tourism infrastructure.

Financial Services and FinTech – Neobanking, payment systems, wealth and regtech, blockchain.

Education – Cutting edge skills in emerging fields of the industry, developing advanced educational systems and curricula, improving the education infrastructure in Australia, digital data and eResearch platforms.

DigiTech – Quantum computing, cyber sciences, cyber security, artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT, big data, disruptive technologies, smart cities, machine learning, network engineering, cloud computing

Infrastructure – Water infrastructure, Energy infrastructure, regional development

What are the benefits of a Global Talent Visa?

Global Talent Employer Sponsored – Employer Sponsored (GTES) helps businesses fill highly-skilled, innovative and cutting-edge positions that cannot be filled from the domestic labour market. The GTES program provides greater flexibility to certain startups and established businesses than the standard TSS program and can be used to access concessions and permanent residence pathways which ordinarily would not be available.

Processing Times – Presently, to be considered under the GTI program, you would need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), your EOI should submit a covering letter, a CV, and evidence of your claimed achievements, After submitting an EOI to the GTIP, it can take anywhere from a few days to a few months to receive a UIN. Please note that the GTIP is experiencing extensive delays in assessing EOI requests and some eligible candidates are likely to wait three to four months (possibly longer) to receive an outcome. After receiving a UIN(unique identifier), you can proceed to lodge a DTV application. The DTV application processing time is between one and two months from the time of submission. This is an incredibly fast turnaround for applicants to achieve Australian permanent residency.

Cost of Global Talent Program

As of November 2020, the following DTV application fees apply:

  • Primary Applicant:   $4,110
  • Applicant over 18:   $2,055
  • Applicant under 18: $1,030

If the dependent applicants above 18 year is does not have “fluent English” also have to pay an additional $4,890 when the visa is ready to be granted.

Additional costs may include Medical Certificate, PCC, translations of documents etc.
