190 and 491 program now open for QLD.
The Queensland State Nomination Skilled Program is NOW OPEN from 25 November 2019 for:
- Skilled Nominated (Permanent) visa (subclass 190)
- Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491)
BSMQ has announced that their skilled migration program is now open (as of 25 November 2019) and applicants can now lodge the EOI(s) for 190 and 491 visa. Few occupations have been removed from the QSOL. Please check the list carefully before you lodge the EOI.
Note: The BSMQ Skilled Program may only be open for a limited time depending on the demand for the program.

Queensland skilled occupation list for onshore Applicants
To apply for Queensland nomination, you must meet both Australian Department of Home Affairs (HA) criteria and Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) criteria for your chosen visa category.
Home Affairs criteria require you to:
- Applicant must meet minimum points test result of 65 or higher, inclusive of state nomination points;
- Applicant profile should be in the state nomination occupation list
- Applicant must be under 45 years of age;
- Applicant need to meet minimum English language requirement of COMPETENT, (Minimum 7 bands each in ielts)
- Applicant need additional documents if invited to lodge an application for a subclass 190 or subclass 491 visa.
BSMQ criteria require:
- Applicant’s profile must be in the occupation on the QSOL (onshore).
- He need to provide the evidence that he has been living in regional Queensland for three months if applying for subclass 491;
- He need to provide evidence of full-time employment immediately before applying/lodging (minimum 35 hours per week) in your nominated occupation for the past six months for subclass 190 and three months for subclass 491;
- Provide evidence of ongoing full-time employment (minimum 35 hours per week) with a Queensland employer registered in Australia for a further 12 months; and
- commit to living and working in Queensland for two years from visa grant for the subclass 190 and three years from visa grant for the subclass 491.
Queensland skilled occupation list for offshore Applicants
To be eligible for Queensland nomination, you must meet both Australian Department of Home Affairs (HA) criteria and Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) criteria for your chosen visa category.
HA criteria requires you to:
- have a points test result of 65 or higher, inclusive of state nomination points;
- have a positive skills assessment in your nominated occupation;
- be under 45 years of age;
- meet the minimum English language requirement of COMPETENT, unless a higher level is required by your assessing authority; and
- Submit additional documents if invited to lodge an application for a subclass 190 or subclass 491 visa.
BSMQ criteria requires you to:
- have an occupation on the QSOL for applicants not currently working in Queensland (offshore);
- satisfy specialisation or other requirements for certain occupations;
- provide evidence that you have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification work experience in your nominated occupation (unless otherwise stated);
- commit to living and working in Queensland from the date that you arrive in Queensland to live permanently; and
- additional requirements relating to job offers must be related to your occupation, and evidence is required showing acceptance of the offer.
Please note: if you are an overseas PhD graduate, you may be eligible for a work experience requirement waiver if you have a minimum 12 month job offer with a Queensland employer registered in Australia. The job offer must be related to your occupation, and evidence is required showing acceptance of the offer.
