Quebec Skilled Worker Program

Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) enables highly educated and trained foreign nationals to immigrate to Quebec as skilled workers. Prospective immigrants who apply to the Skilled Worker Quebec Program are evaluated according to a selection grid of factors, and applicants who score enough points are given a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) which they can then use to apply for Canadian permanent residency.

The Quebec government introduced the new Area of Training List in August 2018 to make the Quebec Selection Certificate (QSC) process easier for International Skilled Workers. Similarly in the year 2024 the government is ready to invite 40,000 new permanent residents.

Quebec Skilled Worker Program is run by the Quebec government and Federal Government of Canada. It allows talented and trained International foreigners who can contribute to the economy of Quebec and the job market as well.

An applicant who wishes to apply for QSWP has to meet a minimum of 50 points (in case of an unmarried individual without spouse/partner) or 59 points (in case of a married individual with spouse/partner) in order to qualify for this program according to the Quebec Point Calculator 2024.

There are two ways to apply for permanent residency for Quebec skilled worker Program:

  • First of all, apply to the provincial government of Quebec to get a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). This certificate will show that the province has selected its holder for permanent residency in the province.
  • Afterward, the candidate has to apply for a Canada PR visa to the IRCC along with the CSQ certificate.
