Second Express Entry draw of the week invites 1,800 candidates for PR

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released its second Express Entry Draw Last Tuesday, the department issued invitations to 920 candidates through a PNP-specific draw.

Today, IRCC invited candidates with work experience in trade occupations through a category-based selection draw. This was the third Express Entry draw held by the department for candidates in trade occupations since category-based selection draws were introduced in May 2023.

Express Entry Latest Draw – Results

Invitations were issued to 1,800 candidates under the Trade Occupation category in the latest Express Entry draw held on July 04, 2024. Invited candidates were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 436 to be eligible.

Candidates invited in this latest Express Entry draw will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) to IRCC. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the CRS score cut-off will be based on the date and time of submission of their Express Entry profile.

Trade jobs in Canada are still in high demand as these roles are vital in many industries across the country. Skilled workers such as electricians, plumbers, and carpenters are needed to construct homes, buildings, and infrastructure. The need for these trades remains stable due to a growing population and ongoing construction projects.

On May 31, Sean Fraser announced that IRCC had finalized six new categories for the draw. Express Entry ProgramIn addition to trade occupations, the new categories are healthcare occupations, STEM occupations, French language proficiency, transportation occupations, and agriculture and agri-food occupations.

Candidates with the most sought-after skills are selected through a category-based selection draw to receive an invitation to apply for Canadian PR.
